**Manager Planning & Inventory Control**

**Location:** South Hutchinson, KS, US, 67505 **Requisition ID:** 12290

Manage all aspects of purchasing, production planning and scheduling, inventory, shipping and receiving for the subsidiary. Designs and execute strategies and initiativesto meet all short-term and long-term supply chain management/production control requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

? Implement and direct a fully functional supply chain management/production control infrastructure.

? Negotiate and monitor all aspects of vendor bidsand evaluations.

? Ensures timely distribution and logistics requirements for production demands

? Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

? Oversees the maintenance and accuracy of data in the MRP system.

? Ensure that systems and processes are in place for ensuring effective communications.

? Oversees production planning/scheduling, purchasing, shipping and receiving.

? Experience and knowledge of low-cost overseas sourcing.

? Be able to conduct make/buy analysis.

? Monitor to assure adherence to all purchasing policies and procedures.

? Provide coaching/mentoring to managers/buyers to invoke positive leadership skills.

? Successfully manage people at various levels to help accomplish assigned tasks.

? Comfortable with working in a sometimes confrontational environment.

? Partner with leadership team members in executing initiatives and projects to achieve strategic business plan.

? Provide effective training and development programs to increase employee capabilities and growth.

? Develop and understand supplier performance metrics & have some quality metric experience.

? Coordination of bidding/quoting activities to ensure consolidated purchasing power for the subsidiary.

? Actively participate in driving business results as a member of the site leadership team.

? Experience with blanket orders and contract terms/terms and conditions

? Promote use and application of lean manufacturing/six sigma/continuous improvement tools as part of the culture.

? Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those in contact on a day to day basis.

? Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications/Training:

? Understanding manufacturing processes and MRP systems; experience with AS400/MAPICS preferred.

? Understanding of quality control with a background in ISO 9001 requirements.

? Must have general knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards.

? Understanding of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

? Must be computer literate and able to effectively use Microsoft Office Business Suites and/or Lotus.

? Demonstrated an ability to lead people and get results through others.

? Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.

? Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blue prints, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.

? Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.

? Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Experience:

? Seven (7) to Ten (10) years in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on supply chain management and production control experience required.

? Experience with purchasing, expediting, MRP/ERP systems, quality/continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing safety practices preferred.

Education:

Bachelors degree preferred. Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.
