JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for establishing and maintaining retail customer/dealer relationships which includes the selling of fertilizer and facilitating the logistics of delivery of the product to the customer. This position will perform their job responsibilities in a manner to increase Mid-West Fertilizer's market share, profitability; and efficiency; while providing a superior customer experience; and helping achieve Mid-West Fertilizer's mission statement and goals.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability and willingness to sell products and services to customers.
  2. Capable of establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate in person to groups of people or to individuals, along with strong written communication skills.
  4. Ability to plan and coordinate meetings and events.
  5. Organization and analytical skills.
  6. Strong work ethic and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  7. Computer and data entry skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  8. Team oriented.
  9. Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  10. Ability to handle emotional customers and resolve complaints.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Eye protection, and hard hats is required in restricted areas. Appropriate clothing required when handling chemicals and hazardous materials.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

A bachelor's degree in agribusiness from a four-year university or college or three years of similar experience in a related agricultural field.

Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Establish and maintain retail customer/dealer relationships inside and outside of current Midwest Fertilizer Wholesale footprint.
  2. Communicate with new and existing customers/dealers to offer support, products and services of Midwest Fertilizer Wholesale.
  3. Calculate quotes and pricing for different regions.
  4. Write individual contracts for fertilizer sales.
  5. Research and analyze current and past sales, patterns, and market trends.
  6. Assist sales staff with backup support, including answering phones, data entry and inventory control.
  7. Establish new freight relationships.
  8. Communicate with current freight providers and sales staff to assist in product being transported.
  9. Maintain a strong working relationship with customers, freight suppliers and co-workers.
  10. Maintain knowledge of government regulations that affect your position.
  11. Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a positive image of Mid-West Fertilizer.
  12. Enforce the credit policy of Mid-West Fertilizer by making credit terms known to customers, not charging to customers on COD, not extending credit to customers not approved by the credit department, not authorizing customer charges that exceed set credit limits, and keeping your personal account current.
  13. Follow and support the safety policies of Mid-West Fertilizer.
  14. Attend all product updates and service training classes assigned by your manager.
  15. Complete special projects assigned by sales management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands

to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;

and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to smell. The employee must be able to regularly

lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,

distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job involves work inside a climate-controlled office atmosphere and outside in hot and cold

weather.
